In this age of innumerable television talent shows that pit singer against singer and fans against fans, it's totally refreshing when something comes along that takes away all the needless competition, the games, the strategy and ultimately the disappointment of losing. And that's precisely what a new event in Melbourne has been designed to create. Dream Inc is a three day workshop that will give people the opportunity to work with some of Australia's most respected musicians in an effort to nurture and enhance their skills as songwriters, singers and performers without the pressure of competition. Run over three days in September at the Melbourne Town Hall, the workshops will bring together the likes of Katie Noonan, Eskimo Joe and Ella & Jesse of Killing Heidi fame, and will team them with respected Sire Records founder Seymour Stein and vocal coach David Jaanz in an effort to instill a sense of self-belief in each of the participants.
Co-founder of Dream Inc, former Warner Music Australia boss Michael Parisi is excited by what the event looks set to achieve.
"Not only will we have seasoned professionals guiding our participants, we have established artists and superstar acts sharing not just their skills and artistry, but their wisdom and values. It will be a humbling experience for all concerned.
"On top of this, the essence of the workshops is what truly excites us. We’re creating an environment where there is no expectation and no pressure. We want everyone involved to not just enjoy themselves, but to be themselves. I know that we will discover some real talent in this kind of atmosphere, and that’s an added bonus for all", he said in a statement.
