COUNTDOWN TO EUROVISION : Finland

Can you believe it!? It's now less than a week before some of Europe's finest hit the stages of Moscow's Indoor Olympic Sports Arena for the semi finals of the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. And as the days count slowly down, auspOp ramps up it's coverage of the entries that will be vying for glory in this year's competition. The grand final from Moscow is to be screened on delayed telecast on Australia's SBS on Sunday May 17.

FINLAND : Waldo's People - Lose Control

Five piece Finnish electro-dance band Waldo's People, fronted by Marko (Waldo) Reijonen will take to the stage in Moscow with the hopes of a nation on their shoulders. Signed to Sony Music in their homeland, the group will perform it's latest single 'Lose Control' - a song that was released in Finland late last year and topped the country's music charts. And while it harks back to the heady days of early '90s dance/pOp (think Twenty4Seven etc), the chorus is a total and utter corker. Any wonder why it topped the charts!
