NEWS WRAP

* US outfit Maroon 5 is heading back into the studio to begin work on their third studio album, due for release next year. They'll be recording tracks for the LP with legendary producer and former Mister Shania Twain 'Mutt' Lange.
* Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas has the No.1 most played song in the country again this week with his single ‘Her Diamonds’. Aussie rockers Jet score the highest new entry into the chart at No.43 with their new single ‘She’s A Genius’.
* The most added song to radio last week was Sony Music soft rock outfit Daughtry and their single ‘No Surprise’. Mariah’s new single ‘Obsessed’ came in at No.8.
* Speaking of Sony, they’ve taken the new Kelly Clarkson single ‘Already Gone’ to radio in Australia this week.
* Ricki-Lee has revealed to Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper that her new single is set to be called ‘Don't Miss You’ and is the first to be lifted from her forthcoming album ‘Hear No, See No, Speak No’. As revealed here last month, Ricki’s new material will head in a more pop/rock direction.
* Serial balladeer Diane Warren is heading to Australia to take part in ‘One Movement For Music’ – a music industry conference to be held in Perth from October 16.
* And Mark Vincent, winner of television reality show Australia’s Got Talent, will release his debut album ‘My Dream Mio Visione’ this weekend. The album is a collection of covers including ‘No Matter What’, ‘The Prayer’ and even the national anthem, ‘Advance Australia Fair’.
