If we can be so blunt as to say the video to the first single from Bertie Blackman's new album 'Secrets And Lies' ('Heart') scared the crap out of us. The second video (for 'Thump') was rather brilliant. And now Ms Blackman has revealed the video for the album's third single, 'Byrds Of Prey'. A lone cyclist is zipping through the woods when all of a sudden she spies something moving in the bushes. Of course, we're privy to the knowledge that it's actually Bertie with impossibly long eyelashes hiding in the shadows and a host of her scantily clad friends. Just as we think the young lass is to make it out of the forest unscathed, we suddenly realise it's actually dropped dark and the creatures make their move. What happens to her? You'll have to watch and see for yourself, but 'Byrds Of Prey' is another fine example of forward-thinking, catchy, clever Aussie pop.Friday, September 25, 2009
