Runner up on American Idol back in 2007, Blake Lewis' debut album 'Audio Day Dream' was released at the end of the same year and sold a rather respectable 300,000 copies in the United States. Still, that wasn't enough for record company Arista casting him off after just one LP. Now with respected US dance label Tommy Boy in his corner and the new album 'Heartbreak On Vinyl' just released in the US (Aussie Blake fans can download the album from iTunes Australia), everything's once again looking up for the 28 year old singer songwriter. 'Sad Song' is the first single to be lifted from the new album and although it was given a release back in July, the video for the track only surfaced recently and here 'tis; And it's the kind of electro pop that one doesn't often assume might come out of the United States. Things we've learned from the clip? Blake wears boxers to bed. Blake has lots of tattoos. Blake uses a blade for shaving purposes. Blake has a messy apartment. Blake likes fedoras and toy cars. Blake likes having a neon sign above his bed to remind him of the name of the first single from his new album. From this, we deduct that Blake must be rather forgetful.
