Ever-so-lucky us! auspOp has been granted an Australian first - an exclusive look behind the scenes at the debut single for Wollongong outfit Porcelain. The five-piece, which is now based in Los Angeles, has been quietly going about their business over the past couple of years, writing with some of the best in the business including Linda Perry and tirelessly gigging and honing their craft to the point where now, signed by Universal Music, they're poised to unleash their debut single 'Last Song'.The track is all about the break-up - reclaiming the songs that captured 'you' as a couple - it's also a song that's destined to connect on an emotional level with everyone who's gone through the pain of splitting from that special someone.
Band guitarist Ben Richards explains, "It's our objective as a band to create great albums, but at the same time we realise that if they do connect in the way we hope they connect with people emotionally, perhaps someday other people will be deleting our album when they break up with somebody."
'Last Song' is the first glimpse into a crystal ball filled with rocking good times for the outfit throughout the forthcoming twelve months and beyond. And those good times kick off with two live shows in their home town coming up later this week (details on their OFFICIAL MYSPACE).
The single 'Last Song' is at radio today, due to drop at retail later this month, with an album expected to follow mid-2010.
