Guess that means that a Friday release for Gaga and Rihanna is completely out of the question now.Speaking with Universal Music earlier today, they still had no idea what the local standard version of The Fame Monster would contain. In Australia, the standard version is officially 'The Monster' eight track album PLUS 'The Fame' album. Deluxe is 'The Monster' eight track album PLUS 'The Fame' album in a digipak. The digipak alone does not warrant a $7 difference in price - it offers nothing extra to the standard edition except for the embossed digi-packaging.

is there anything special about the delux edition of the fame monster? I got the standard.
also, is rihannas new one any good? If its dark/rockish i'm sure i'll find a copy.
thanks
Hey auspOp, I went to Sanity, they had the 2CD digipak and 2CD regular plastic box $34.99 each (tOtal rip-Off!). JB said it gets released tomorrow, but they don't seem to be getting standard edition!!! what I was gonna buy!!! oh well...
Hey Dayne,
Absolutely nothing extra whatsoever - except for the packaging. Not worth the extra $7 at all.
FishpOp,
These discs were all from JB Hifi, so no doubt your local store will also be getting both versions.
^ hey fishpOp (nice name :P)
the "standard" in australia is the two disc, we are not getting the single disc with 8 tracks released here.
the digipack is the "delux" copy of the album.
the super-delux has a bunch of crap in there :)
Is it censored? I know the sticker's on there, but that could be for the FAME, and I want me some uncensored MONSTER
Well isn't that typical? 'Let's make more money by making a "deluxe" edition that is actually the same as the standard with some slightly fancier packading? Because the true fans will shell out the extra cash for the "deluxe" edition.'
This is exactly what is wrong with the labels these days - they keep tightening the belt when it comes to releases, and then wonder why people don't buy them.
Stop being so tight, start giving music fans value for money, and they might just reward you by buying more.
It gets worse guys...
I've sent a nasty email to Universal Music about this:
- The 'stickers' on the digipack are not stickers, they are hard printed (and destroy the 'Deluxe' artwork) - ironically, they are printed on the black wig pic on the front and ALSO on the blonde wig pic cover of the inner booklet too! Stuuupid!
- After having the 'non-stickers' ruin the artwork, 'Bad Romance', 'Monster' & 'Dance In The Dark' are all censored! I can't believe they censored 'b!tch' on 'Bad Romance' & 'Dance..' when she says 'sh!t' and '@ss' on "The Fame" album. . .
Anyway, that was two days ago and no reply from UMG Australia yet.
i bought the digi-pack for $21.99 from jb hi fi and the standard was $19.99
So, is The Fame Monster already out? And is Rihanna's new album being released this Friday? I'm confused.
Will "The Fame Monster" be released digitally tomorrow because now that there is no standard 8-track physical edition, I will purchase the new tracks from iTunes instead.
Just bought the digipak edition for $26.99 at JB. A great album!!!
I was going to buy standard as I already have the original The Fame, but anyway...
WHY THE HELL DID THEY HAVE TO ****ING CENSOR B***H IN BAD ROMANCE!! THEY MADE IT SOUND SO MUCH WORSE!!
I haven't noticed censoring in other songs yet, but probably because I don't know the songs well. Hopefully the CD Single to Bad Romance will be uncensored, which I will buy anyway, btw any track listing yet??
JB also had the new So Fresh release, Rihanna (they were playing it aloud), 50 Cent (rated MA15+) and some other stuff.
The price for The Fame Monster on iTunes will probly be $2.19.
