It's been one of the most hotly anticipated music videos all month, and now the clip to Britney Spears' new single '3' has finally been let out of it's hermetically sealed box for the world to see. But was it worth the wait? After a short commercial for Britney's latest fragrance, it's onto the clip proper where the songstress pouts her way through the clip with a shock of blonde hair and a rather skimpy outfit. There's plenty of dancing, some sexy dancers and a more than adequate pop tune. Saturday, October 31, 2009

DARIN HITS THE UK
He had a massive hit in his adopted homeland at the end of last year with his Kat DeLuna collaboration 'Breathing Your Love', and now Swedish singer Darin is spreading his pop wings, readying the single for a UK release in November. And it seems as though the singer's pop credentials are working in his favour, with the all-conquering Almighty reportedly on the mix for the track's UK release. And depending on how well the track goes for Sony Music over in Britain, the song may very well make it's way around the rest of the world. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves JUST yet. The single is released in Britain on November 29.A DEYA IN THE PARK

TOURING : Joel & Benji Madden
Good Charlotte siblings Joel and Benji Madden have announced a rather special one-off acoustic show for next Monday in Sydney. Touring agent Michael Coppel announced the show last night, declaring that the show was coming in the middle of the recording process for the next Good Charlotte album, due in 2010. Tickets for the exclusive one-off show go on sale this morning at 9am.November 02 : Sydney (The Factory)
ARIA'S FINAL PERFORMER
Robbie Williams... check. Keith Urban... check. Jessica Mauboy... check. Ladyhawke... check. Empire Of The Sun... check. Sarah Blasko, Lisa Mitchell, Kate Miller-Heidke... check. Hilltop Hoods... check. All these artists will perform live as part of the 2009 ARIA Awards ceremony, being held at Sydney's Acer Arena on November 26. But ARIA has also just announced the final performer for the evening - it's our very own The Temper Trap, who we assume will perform their critically acclaimed single 'Sweet Disposition'. The 2009 awards will be held 'in the round', promising great vantage points for everyone within the venue and us at home as Channel 9 telecasts the awards from 8:30pm on the same evening.

SMOKE 'N' NATURE
It's been a little while since we heard from the Human Nature boys but that's all about to change, with Andrew, Phil, Toby and Little Man Big Hair announcing a one-off live show in December with the legendary Smokey Robinson. The fivesome are heading to the vines of Wyndham Estate in the New South Wales Hunter Valley for the single show, with support provided from soul/pop songstress Jessica Mauboy. Tickets for the show are on sale now.December 12 : Hunter Valley (Wyndham Estate)
THE CHORUS OF SHOCK AND DISAPPROVAL
Consider us joined. We feel we must concur with the team over at Muu Muse and at Music Fascination in questioning the chosen cover image for Adam Lambert's forthcoming album 'For Your Entertainment'. In the inimitable words of Dr.Phil... 'What the hell were you THINKING!?'
WHO'S LAST AT THE CHAPEL?
The final act to take to the stage for this year's series of Live At The Chapel has been locked in. As you're probably well aware by now, US singer John Mayer is the next to take to the stage of Paddington's Uniting Church in Sydney (on November 04), but one more act will hit the chapel stage before the end of the year. While the artist's name is yet to be released, we'll give you a couple of hints... Australian. Band. Released an album this year.
LIL'S SIDESHOWS
After already claming her place on stage for the (now sold out) 2010 Big Day Out festivals around the country, UK popstar Lily Allen has this morning announced a series of headline live performances during her Australian visit. The singer will play three extra dates - one each in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, with the Brisbane gig also featuring the talents of Dizzee Rascal and Calvin Harris. Support for all three extra shows comes from amazing local Miami Horror.Tickets for all three dates will go on sale on Monday November 09.
January 19 : Brisbane (River Stage)
January 21 : Sydney (Hordern Pavillion)
January 28 : Melbourne (Festival Hall)
GAGA FOR GAGA?
It's most definitely the weirdest thing we've ever heard making it's way into an artist's box set release, but fans of Lady Gaga who are willing to pay handsomely for one of her desperately limited edition 'The Fame Monster' art books to be released in December, will get themselves a little lock of the singer's hair. The contents of the 'Fame Monster' art books have just been revealed and along with their very own piece of Gaga, fans will also get a collectable puzzle, pictorials, a behind the scenes look at the singer's creative process, posters, fanzines, a Lady Gaga paper doll collection, 3D glasses in preparedness for something rather special coming soon and personal notes from the singer herself. All this in addition to the hair and the CD!
The singer has also revealed the eight new tracks for the forthcoming repackaged album - and it will include a duet with pop superstar Beyonce - 'Telephone'.
Also included will be first single 'Bad Romance', along with 'Alejandro', 'Monster', 'Speechless', 'Dance In The Dark', 'So Happy I Could Die' and 'Teeth'. 'The Fame Monster' gets it Australian release in standard and deluxe formats on November 20.
LIVE AND LEITHAL
Fans of former Australian Idol Damien Leith have been expressing their disappointment that he's not going to be performing for long enough as part of his support role on the Ronan Keating/Tina Arena tour of Australia announced over the weekend. But peeps, fear not 'cause the singer has a number of solo shows set down for December. The five shows are set to kick off at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre in Nowra on December 04 and finish up in Melbourne at the Palms at Crown on December 19. The shows are a continuation of his recent 'One Night Only' performances in Sydney and Melbourne, where the singer showcased songs from his new album 'Remember June'. Tickets are on sale now, with all the details over on his OFFICIAL WEBSITE.December 04 : Nowra (Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre)
December 05 : Dapto (Leagues Club)
December 16 : Sydney (The Basement)
December 18 : Mount Pritchard (Mounties)
December 19 : Melbourne (The Palms At Crown)
THE LITTLE STEVIES : Dink You
We love a band that has a quirky sense of humour - and it would appear that The Little Stevies would have just that if the video for their new single 'Dink You' is anything to go by. It's a little bit music video, it's a little bit mockumentary, as the band sets out to circumnavigate the globe... by bike... and underwater. With their Swift brand table tennis balls at the ready, they slip into the ocean and the adventure begins. It's cute stuff from a band that's very quickly developed a name for themselves on the local music scene. Check them out online at their OFFICIAL MYSPACE.SKIPPING GIRL VINEGAR : Sinking
If Mark Lang, vocalist for Aussie outfit Skipping Girl Vinegar wasn't clever enough, take a look at the video clip for the band's new single 'Sinking', 'cause as well as lending his pipes to the clip, he also co-created it! Now that's what we call... well showing off, really. It contains UFOs, brass-playing marsupials, a talking cat, some robots, a tardis (obviously borrowed from the BBC props department), an asteroid, an asterisk, what's apparently the home of Mercury Records, some planets and one heck of an adventure. You can also pay the band a visit as they take up residency in both Sydney and Melbourne throughout the month of November. In Sydney, they'll be at Raval at the Macquarie Hotel on November 06, 12 and 19 while in Melbourne, they'll be appearing at the Northcote Social Club on November 04, 11, 18 and 25. Tickets are available HERE.
THE PET SHOP BOYS' PARTY
How ace would it be to be at a party where they had an endless supply of multi-coloured Pet Shop Boys balloons. It would be the kind of celebration that would require a rather amazing pop soundtrack, of that we could be sure - and the gang at the Pet Shop Boys' record company in Brazil have combined them both - releasing this rather splendid collection of Pet Shop Boys tracks called (ironically) 'Party'! The album is set for release next week, but the Pet Shop Boys themselves are allowing fans the world over the chance to get their hands on the disc from their OFFICIAL WEBSITE. Including remixes of classic tracks like 'West End Girls' and 'Paninaro', and new tunes from 'Yes' like 'Love Etc' and 'King Of Rome', the 16 track album is a must for any collector.

MEMORIES
If you've ever strode confidently into a Onelove dance party throughout the past decade, chances are that you may very well be featured in this little three minute teaser of the brand new 'Classics' album, due out this weekend. Plenty of memories here, all set to a mini-mix of the tracks featured on the 3CD set.VICIOUS GETS DIGITAL
As the first Australian label to have a dance compilation released to the local iTunes store way back in 2004, Vicious Records knows a thing or two about creating something rather special for the digital music loving community - and that's why they're launching the latest in their series of 'iCuts' compilations. Mixed by the legendary Lorne Padman (did you see what we did there, Lorne? bestowed you with 'legend' status!), the 26 track digital compilation will drop at iTunes Australia on November 07. And you can be assured that it contains some of the very latest cuts from all over the world, including Australia, with a tracklist that features the likes of Dirty South, Tommy Trash, Mind Electric, Moony and Pitch Dark.
Check out the full tracklist in the comments section of this post.
JACKSON 5 PREVIEWS
With interest in the King Of Pop never higher, Motown (and Universal Music here in Australia) will release a new album of previously unreleased Jackson 5 tracks in November. The album contains a myriad of songs unearthed from the Motown vaults - and four of them, 'Listen I'll Tell You How', 'Love Comes In Different Flavours', 'Lucky Day' and 'I'll Try, You'll Try (Maybe We'll All Get By)', have been made available for fans to listen to online! Wrap your listening gear around the four tracks HERE. The album drops at US retail on November 10, in Australia on November 13.
ELLIE GOULDING : Under The Sheets
So just who is Ellie Goulding? Ellie Goulding is a 21 year old singer songwriter from London in the United Of Kingdom and will release her debut single 'Under The Sheets' over there late next month. She's signed with Polydor Records. She plays live instruments. She's a little bit folk and a little bit electro. And her debut album is expected to drop in the new year. auspOp reader Stuart tipped us off on the singer's new tune and it's accompanying video which features an abundance of Ellies (we believe there's a pandemic of pop proportions breaking out as we speak) performing various tasks inside an apartment building. One's singing (you'd kind of hope so), one's dancing (so we know the tune's danceable), one's playing guitar (so we know she can). Most definitely one to put on the pre-Christmas shopping list.NEWS WRAP

* Cheryl Cole has hit the No.1 spot on the UK singles chart this week with her single 'Fight For This Love'. The song also takes the gong as the year's fastest selling single so far, bagging almost 300,000 copies in it's first week on sale.
* And on the British albums chart, it's Alexandra Burke who's sung her way to the top of the chart, beating out fancied rivals Michael Buble and Whitney Houston, who debut at numbers two and three respectively.
* Pop superstar Lady Gaga seems to be getting into the festive swing of things if this publicity shot (left) is anything to go by. With just 60 sleeps to go until Christmas, her timing couldn't be more perfect.* Melbourne's new music conference 'Face The Music' is on this weekend, with plenty of networking opportunities for those within the music industry. Sessions at this Saturday's event will include a series of topics related to various aspects of the music business. Head HERE for more details.
* And finally David Guetta has given fans a sneak peek behind the scenes of his new video 'One Love' featuring the saucy Estelle. Fans can click HERE for a quick gander.

CASSIE DAVIS : No More
Can you believe it? We're starting to get requests for videos these days - one of our eagle-eyed auspOp readers kindly asked us to post the video clip for the new Cassie Davis single - and now we have official artwork to go with it (we're sticklers like that, you see), here is the clip. So Cassie meets a boy and everything seems to be totally perfect. He's, like, totally hot and like, totally tall and like. But as the days pass, we come to see with his subtle actions that he may not be the perfect man she thought he was. It all goes downhill until the relationship is no more. Aaah, cue the song title!
GOLDENNESS
If Aussie songstress Vanessa Amorosi was celebrating hard right throughout last week, we feel there's another week of partying on the way, with the singer's new single 'This Is Who I Am' being given a GOLD accreditation this morning for sales of more than 35,000 copies. The track holds it's No.1 position on the official ARIA singles chart this week, becoming the first Aussie track to debut and hold it's No.1 position in the second week since Silverchair's 'Straight Lines' two and a half years ago. Things are now looking rather good indeed for the singer's forthcoming album 'Hazardous', due into the shops on November 06.
CHART WATCH
Our number one single and album both stay the same for the second week in a row - but did Vanessa Amorosi and Michael Buble sell more or less than on debut last week? Let's find out in this week's Chart Watch.SINGLES : Vanessa Amorosi occupies the No.1 position for the second week in a row with her single 'This Is Who I Am'. It sold 14,867 copies this week, 3663 less than last week's debut of 18,530 copies, but still enough to keep her clear (just) of The Black Eyed Peas, who move up to No.2 with latest single 'Meet Me Halfway' (14,333 copies).
Guy Sebastian and Cascada prove you can't keep them down - both singles move back up the charts this week, Guy up to No.4 with 'Like It Like That' (7598 copies) and Cascada up to No.5 with 'Evacuate The Dancefloor' (6842 sales).
Britney's new single '3' also continues to rise - though only up one more place this week to No.6 on the back of a further 6698 sales. Miley Cyrus too moves up - her latest single 'Party In The U.S.A.' now a bonafide hit at No.9 with 6176 sales.
Robbie Williams' 'Bodies' suffers a six place drop to No.10 in just it's second week (5606), while La Roux bullets to No.11 with 'Bulletproof' (5456 sales) - proof Australia has finally fallen under their electro-pop spell.
The Foo Fighers' single 'Wheels' starts turning over some better sales figures - up 16 places to No.21 this week and another 2673 sales to celebrate, while just two places below, Powderfinger drops in with new single 'All Of The Dreamers' selling 2340 copies on debut.
Muse's killer single 'Uprising' moves back up - to No.24 this week, very nearly almost beating it's peak of No.23 (2295 copies) and the summer megahit in waiting 'Tik Tok' by Ke$ha slams into the No.28 spot on debut (2249 sales).
Further down the chart, more top 50 debuts - Death Cab For Cutie's 'Meet Me On The Equinox' at No.37 (1890 copies), Pink's 'I Don't Believe You' at No.42 (1738 sales), the Glee Cast at No.43 with 'It's My Life/Confessions Pt.II' (1598 sales), John Mayer's new single 'Who Says' at No.48 (1337 copies) and Eskimo Joe in at No.50 with 'Don't Let Me Down' (1329 sales).
Outside the top 50, Universal Music artist Washington splashes in at No.73 with her track 'How To Tame Lions' (872 copies), Orianthi debuts at No.98 with 'According To You' (622 sales) and it's another chart placing for the Glee Cast - at No.100 with 'Maybe This Time' (588 sales). 'Maybe This Time' takes to six the number of Glee Cast tracks currently occupying the top 100 singles chart.
ALBUMS : It's a second week in the top spot for crooner Michael Buble. His new album 'Crazy Love' continues to sell well this week, but not quite matching the albums 19,304 sales of last week. The LP bags an extra 15,486 sales in it's second week.
The soundtrack to the new Twilight vampire flick 'New Moon' debuts in the No.2 position this week less than 150 copies off No.1, with fans of the franchise obviously keen to sink their teeth into something new. The album sold 15,362 copies last week and gives Warner Music the No.1 and No.2 albums in the country.
Mumford & Sons have come from relative obscurity to burst onto the Aussie chart landscape with their debut single (which is already top 20) and now their debut album. It debuts respectably at No.4 on this week's charts, selling 4566 copies along the way.
Miley Cyrus' new EP (can we really call it an album?) 'Time Of Our Lives' settles for No.11 on debut - 3086 fans of the teen sensation thought enough of it to pick up a copy last week.
David Gray's album jumps (up nine places to No.27), but Mariah Carey's album slumps (down 13 places to No.28). On the back of the second soundtrack's success, the original Twilight soundtrack also makes a run back up the ladder - it's up to No.35 with another 1071 sales in the bag.
Aussie rocker Ian Moss debuts at No.40 with his new Liberation offering 'Soul On West 53rd Street' (929 copies), The Flaming Lips debut in the top 50 at No.43 with 'Embryonic' (909 sales) and Mark Knopfler is back in top 50 action at No.48 with 'Get Lucky' (866 sales).
Outside the top 50, local jazz singer Megan Washington's album 'Nightlight' carves up the No.53 position with 811 sales on debut, with Florence & The Machine's album 'Lungs' lunging from No.72 to No.55 this week (774 sales).
Bob Dylan's new festival album 'Christmas In The Heart' debuts at No.67 (702 copies), Diana Krall's 'Quiet Nights' is back in the top 100 (at No.75 - 612 sales) and Andre Rieu makes a run for it with 'My Music, My Life' bulleting back into the top 100 at No.83 (554 copies).

THE NEXT ROBBIE SINGLE
Told you we'd keep you posted... Robbie Williams single No.2 from his forthcoming album 'Reality Killed The Video Star' (pictured) is... 'You Know Me'. It's at Australian radio now.
NEWS WRAP
* We hear on the grapevine that Ms Tina Cousins, who's out and about in the UK at the moment promoting her new single 'Sex On Fire' (the Kings Of Leon cover) may very well be headed back to Australian shores soon for a series of club appearances. We'll keep you posted.* Speaking of live appearances, Paul Dempsey has announced a series of live dates throughout country New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. Tickets for the dates, which kick off at Lizotte's in Kincumber on December 07 go on sale to the general public tomorrow. More details and other dates are available at Paul's OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
* auspOp reader Spiro has given us the heads-up that apparently the final single from Jessica Mauboy's album 'Been Waiting' will be 'Let Me Be Me'. He tells us it's scheduled to hit the shops on December 11.
* We've been told by reliable sources that a new Robbie Williams single will be taken to Australian radio later this morning. No word yet on what the track may be, but we'll keep you posted.
* Reformed indie-rockers Pavement have sold out their first Melbourne concert in March. So organisers have announced a second show for the band - at the Palais Theatre on Sunday March 14. Tickets for the second Melbourne date are on sale now.
* We've talked about them before here on auspOp, but The Superions, the new band for the B52s vocalist Fred Schneider, are about to release a brand new seven track EP. The EP, featuring their critically acclaimed single 'Totally Nude Island' is slated for a US release on January 19. CLICK HERE for more details.
* And with more than 230,000 copies of her debut solo single 'Fight For This Love' already in the bag and the single already sitting atop the Irish singles chart, Girls Aloud and X Factor star Cheryl Cole is on track for one helluva No.1 UK debut later today.
WHORE'S MASCARA : Monogamous
Not since Alcazar's 'Menage A Trois' has a threesome come along that steams up the screen quite the way New York's Whore's Mascara does. And there's even an Aussie connection in the band, with female vocalist Georgia Haege hailing from ol' Sydney town! After making their debut on the music scene last year, Whore's Mascara has slowly but surely been developing a loyal following throughout the US and beyond, beguiling fans with their straight-out-of-the-80s pop hooks, catchy choruses and good looks - and they have Australia set fairly and squarely in their sights.
Their new single is called 'Monogamous' (available on local iTunes now) and the team behind the band has just sent us the altogether racy video clip in which girls pash boys, girls pash girls and boys pash boys. Directed by respected photographer Patrik Andersson, it's styish, sexy and is wall-to-wall with beautiful people and what's more, we've been given the clip to give you a glimpse ahead of it's New York premiere later this week! We reckon we might be hearing a bit more about this band in the months and years ahead. For more on the band, head over and check out their OFFICIAL MYSPACE.

ORIANTHI : According To You
She's the Aussie guitarist who made the cut and was meant to join the legendary King Of Pop on his ill-fated 'This Is It' concerts in Britain and now Orianthi has premiered the video to her debut single 'According To You'. The clip, which is shot predominantly in a bedroom, features one of the most glamorous guitars you're ever likely to see - adorned with what appears to be hundreds of tiny little crystals. We also have to give big props to the star guitarist for her incredible lavender-adorned finger work in the guitar solo towards the end. But just who's holding the guitar that the camera seems to be attached to? We thought that might have been going somewhere, but alas, no.
JEREMY JORDAN : The Right Kind Of Love
Back in 1992 when Beverley Hills 90210 was at the peak of it's powers, a young 19 year old singer from Illinois burst onto the music scene with his debut single - 'The Right Kind Of Love'. With the Robbie Nevil co-penned hit, Jeremy Jordan became an overnight sensation and scored himself a top ten chart placing here in Australia in the process. But one single ('Wannagirl') later and his debut album later and the dream was all but over. But the clip for 'The Right Kind Of Love' takes us back to a time when life was a little less intense - when the simple white t-shirt was the must-have in any fashion wardrobe, when jeans were high-waisted, before girls had really discovered eyebrow shaping and before the word 'chambray' had become a dirty one. Interestingly, Jeremy is still recording and performing - as part of the 'Jeremy Jordan Band', though his music is a little less pop these days. Check out the band's OFFICIAL MYSPACE and the video for charity single 'Forgotten People' released in April this year (HERE).

LEONA LEWIS : Happy
Leona Lewis has returned to the world music scene with 'Happy' - the first single to be lifted from her forthcoming second album 'Echo'. The song, already placing inside the local iTunes top 100 chart, is another one of those big ballads that'll attempt to send shivers down your spine when played at volume. The video revolves around Ms Lewis and a young man who seems to have caught her eye (and vice-versa it has to be said - he'd be blind not to notice her exotic good looks). But is the story everything that it seems? (Well obviously not, seeing as we've planted that seed...)TOURING : The Temper Trap
Just as we're recuperating from the new year celebrations, Aussie outfit The Temper Trap will be warming up for a red-hot 2010 with two live shows now locked in the schedule in the first half of January. All this after their promotional duties in the United States, a headlining tour throughout Europe and tours in Britain and Ireland! (PHEW!) But back to Australian adventures and the four piece will hit Sydney's Enmore Theatre on January 08 before heading south to Melbourne to play the Forum Theatre on January 12. Tickets for both shows are set to go on sale on Monday November 02.

Now with an enhanced clarity and new-found depth, Corinne Bailey Rae is once again ready to take on the world with her intoxicating blend of emotion-powered soul pop.
With the album described as "dark, seductive, emotional, honest and yet full of hope", we can't wait for it's local release on Friday January 29.
