15 MILLION AND COUNTING

Lady Gaga and Beyonce's brand new 'Telephone' video may have only been online since Friday afternoon local time, but in that very short three and a bit day window, it's already been viewed a staggering 15 million times. And according to a Universal Music rep today, "The plan is for Friday" when it comes to the clip's Aussie iTunes release.
We've watched 'Telephone' a number of times over the past few days, having more of a chance to take it all in - and our original thoughts of 'epic, grand etc' haven't changed all that much. Though there's some pretty dodgy acting (especially in the Pussy Wagon), there's no shortage of blinding video-pop brilliance.
There's the clip's sheer length, the lady-pashing, the choreography, the soda can hair do, Gaga cleverly giving a nod to those hermaphrodite rumours, the outfit made entirely of crime scene tape, the giggle-some 'Plenty Of Fish' dating website, her Michael Jackson-esque dance move on exiting the jail, the bespectacled lady in the diner, the almost cartoon-like delivery of the poisoned chalices, the cameo from Queer Eye For The Straight Guy's Jai Rodriguez and the smoking hot dance routine in the diner.
Though some would complain that "they don't make clips like that anymore", Gaga does - and in producing such incredible videos like this with such vision and grandeur, is it really any wonder why she's fast become the hottest property on planet pop.

Please make mention of Jonas Akerlund who wrote(with Gaga) and directed the clip. He is the Brilliance behind this clip.

1. The clip is overrated and simply part of a large hype machine.

2. The acting was supposed to be bad. That was the point.
