The shine was kind of wiped off the Mika juggernaut following the release of his recent single 'We Are Golden'. While his debut album 'Life In Cartoon Motion' spawned a series of hits around the globe, his follow-up, 'The Boy Who Knew Too Much' and the singles from it (apart from 'We Are Golden') have failed to fire quite to the same extent. His record company is obviously hoping that the singer's inclusion on the soundtrack for the upcoming superhero film 'Kick-Ass' might turn things around.
In the clip for the single of the same name, Mika has obviously been pushed to the ground, his face grazed, his jacket ripped. He gets up, runs up a flight of stairs and delivers the latter stages of the repeating chorus. All this in the midst of highlights from the film.
The only thing about this track is that it's desperately repetitive. In just three minutes and 10 seconds, the four line chorus is sung an extraordinary eight times. Which doesn't leave room for much else.
