Police in Sydney have taken the extraordinary step of cancelling this morning's planned Justin Bieber concert at Circular Quay, after fears for public safety. A 7000 strong crowd turned up for the event, with reports that some had been camping out since yesterday morning in the hope of being closest to their teen idol. Some young fans had travelled from as far away as Cairns and Perth just for the show.
Around a dozen young fans fainted in the crush, with police cancelling the event after repeated calls for the crowd to back away went unheeded.
