DIANA ROSS : Chain Reaction

There's just something timeless about a song written (and BVed) by the brothers Gibb - and this one is most certainly no exception. The biggest selling song of the year in Australia way back in 1986, 'Chain Reaction' enjoyed unprecedented success down under, also peaking at No.1 in the UK. Strangely, it fared a lot worse in the United States. And while Steps' cover version of the track almost a decade ago reminded us how good the song was, there's simply no bettering the original - Ms Ross cleverly announcing her arrival into the '80s pop world by dragging the audience from a '60s-esque black and white beginning into a full fish-tailed, flaming red frock, surrounded by fireworks. But though we're still treated to some glorious cutaways of '60s Ms Ross, the '80s outfits get more outlandish, the sets more grandiose from there on in.
