CASEY HITS THE ROAD

As you're probably aware by now, former Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan is about to make a comeback or sorts with her new single 'Big, Beautiful & Sexy', an anthem set to give empower and uplift Australia's laydees of curves. It's due for release next month - about the same time that Casey will hit the road, with a series of live shows dedicated to some of music's 'big, beautiful & sexy' showgirls.
“It will be the story of my life,", Casey says, "And will also include some big show numbers from the likes of Aretha
Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Mama Cass, Queen Latifah and more.”
“The concept of Big, Beautiful & Sexy is about living in the world today with all the negativity around being big. The song is
written around my personal experience with being a big girl, and to put it out there that ‘Yes I’m big, I’m beautiful & I’m sexy’ and I’m not afraid to put it out there! I’m happy and I’m proud of my life, who I am and what I do!”
Though a raft of live dates are planned, those revealed so far are below, with tickets on sale now;

August 07 : Rooty Hill (RSL)
August 20 : Darlinghurst (Slide)
August 21 : Wentworthville (Leagues Club)
August 28 : Kincumber (Lizotte's)
August 29 : Newcastle (Lizotte's)

It's such exciting news to see Casey recording again. Many might not realise it but Casey's 'comeback' really gained momentum earlier this year with her role in the musical 'The Sapphires' which toured the country and garnered Casey rave reviews. The show was just recently invited to appear at the Daegu International Musical Festival (South Korea). Casey won a 'Best Supporting Actress Award' - a wonderful achievment for anyone but particularly for someone who only took up acting a short while ago.

As an 'independant', promotion for her new single is going to be that much harder. Anyone who wants to help Casey can do so by requesting it on radio stations. It went to radio this week and will be released digitally on 7th August.

Hey Meg,

Thanks for the comment!
We'd tried to get an exact date of release from the publicists, but wasn't given it beyond 'August'.
