Can you believe it? 'Xanadu' - the theme song to the movie of the same name, by ELO and vocalled by Olivia Newton-John - is now an incredible 30 years old. But somehow, as if by the power of a magical roller-skating muse, it still manages to remain timeless. While ONJ may have had bigger chart success with tracks like 'I Honestly Love You', 'Have You Never Been Mellow' and another soundtrack favourite, 'You're The One That I Want', 'Xanadu' remains a standout from her extensive back catalogue. And the video (this one reaching close to 5,000,000 hits on Youtube) pinches directly from the film itself, with Farrah Fawcett hairdo Liv followed by kitchen foil-clad ethereal goddess Liv followed by home-girl Liv. That dancing - those rollerskates, the choreography, the fashion, the special effects. GOLD!
