CHART WATCH

Katy Perry is holding onto the No.1 album spot this week with her new release 'Teenage Dream' - and she's a smidgen over the 10,000 mark. Whereas the top four remain rather stable on the ARIA singles chart this week. But once again, Taio Cruz should watch his back.

SINGLES : Taio Cruz remains in the No.1 position on the ARIA singles chart this week with his single 'Dynamite'. Another 21,682 copies down this week - still impressive, but Katy Perry is increasingly nipping at his heels, with 'Teenage Dream' the single increasing chart sales this week to 19,750 copies.
The top six positions all sell in excess of 11,000 copies, with Usher and Ke$ha swapping places in the Nos.5 and 6 positions this week. Good Charlotte improves their standing with new single 'Like It's Her Birthday' (up ten spots to No.7), Bruno Mars improving two spots to No.8 and Cee-Lo Green's 'Fuck You' up into the top ten at No.9 with 8657 sales.
The week's highest new singles entry comes courtesy of Nelly, whose new track 'Just A Dream' debuts in the No.24 spot with 3480 sales, with Aussie outfit Little Red surging 21 places with their new tune 'Rock It' - up to No.28 this week.
Lady Antebellum is up ten spots with 'Need You Now', The Wombats debut at No.35 with 'Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)' (2780 sales) and Zoe Badwi rockets into the top 50 at No.36 with her fab single 'Freefallin' (2751 sales).
New into the top 100 is Justice Crew's single 'And Then We Dance' - first week sales of 2111 copies see the single debut at No.46, while Train, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys pop back into the top 50.
Outside the top 50, Potbelleez were just four copies off the upper half of the 100, Brandon Flowers' single 'Crossfire' fires up to No.53 and Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow score a lowly No.62 debut for their make-up song 'Shame' (1509 sales).
Lethal Bizzie is in at No.67 with 'Go Go Go' (1398 sales), Brian & Delta's duet jumps eight spots, Alexandra Burke more impressive - up 23 spots to No.76.
Christina Aguilera's 'Hurt' gets some more Aussie chart love after it was sung in the X Factor auditions - it's in at No.84 with 1129 sales, the Glee Cast gets 'Jessie's Girl' back into the 100 at No.88, Vanessa Amorosi's latest 'Holiday' tanks 50 spots in one week - down to No.92, CC Martini's 'Double Dutch' debuts at No.93 (963 sales) and Dan Balan's sexy 'Chica Bomb' plops over the line at No.100 with 863 sales.

ALBUMS : On the album chart this week, Katy Perry dominates with her album 'Teenage Dream'. And though it dropped in figures week on week, it still fared relatively well, bagging more than 10,000 copies in its second week (10,698 to be precise). Eminem recovers to position No.2 with 6814 sales, edging out Jimmy Barnes by less than 400 copies.
Brandon Flowers' debut solo album 'Flamingo' is in at No.5 for its first week, with 5217 copies sold and Stone Sour debuts right behind him with new album 'Audio Secrecy' and 4457 sales.
Lady Antebellum surges with 'Need You Now' up to a new peak of No.12 and 2643 sales, Train's 'Save Me, San Fransisco' hits No.14 and Usher's 'Raymond V Raymond' sales surge again on the back of a repackage.
Further down the list, top 50 re-emergences from Jason Derulo (No.40), Michael Jackson (No.43) and Enrique Iglesias (No.50) are interrupted by a debut from Blue King Brown - the album 'Worldwize Pt.1' debuting at No.44 with 895 sales.
Outside the top 50, The Red Shore's album 'The Avarice Of Men' debuts at No.54 (785 sales), Murderdolls' album 'Women And Children Last' sinks 43 places in a week, Santana's 'Ultimate' is back in at No.78 ahead of his new album's release - same goes for Kings Of Leon at No.82 and The Script at No.83.
Re-emergences this week from U2, Thirsty Merc, Lady Gaga, Neil Young and Powderfinger.

do u have the total sales for kelly clarkson cry

auspOp said...

Hey Anonymous,

Kelly Clarkson's 'Cry' was never released as a single in Australia - and has never charted.
The last time Kelly Clarkson was on the top 100 singles chart in Australia was on November 16, 2009 with 'Already Gone' at No.99.

Hey Anonymous,

Unfortunately, no. We don't have total sales of the albums because they were released before we started reporting official sales.

Hey Anonymous,

Sia’s album ‘We Are Born’ is the only Sia release in the top 100 chart this week – and it’s at No.69 with 647 sales.
There hasn’t been any Operator Please in the top 100 charts for yonks and Am8er hasn’t yet charted with her new single.

As for Mika, ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’ sold a lowly 11,014 copies while it was in the top 100.
‘We Are Golden’ sold 23,836 copies while it was in the top 100.
And ‘Rain’ sold just 832 copies during its one week in the top 100 – it debuted at No.90 and dropped out the following week.

Hey Fake fishpOp,

We find it startling to believe that anyone can know the information about something as technical as a catalogue number and not know something as simple as the name of the song.

That said, we don't have any information available to us. But no doubt you do...?

How much did Eminem's 'Not Afraid' sell this week? Thanks.

auspOp said...

Hey fishpop,

Once again, by giving these sales, we'd be divulging most of the top 20 and we don't wish to jeopardise our service to everyone else.
But just this once;

#4. Club Can't Handle Me - Flo Rida featuring David Guetta - 13337
#6. Take It Off - Ke$ha - 11825
#8. Just the Way You Are - Bruno Mars - 9443
#10. If I Had You - Adam Lambert - 7988
#13. Cooler than Me - Mike Posner - 5928
#34. Hey, Soul Sister - Train - 2793

Hey Anonymous,

Hayley's not experienced a top 100 placing for her single 'Hands Off' and given she's nowhere to be seen in the iTunes top 200, we'd say it's a safe bet you won't be seeing her in the chart anytime soon.

The auspOp team

auspOp said...

Hey Petro,

Goldfrapp’s album ‘Head First’ sold a measly 4906 copies before it dropped out of the top 100 chart never to return.
None of the singles from the album has charted in Australia.

Gabriella Cilmi sold 46,913 copies of ‘On A Mission’, but ‘Hearts Don’t Lie’ didn’t chart. Her album ‘Ten’ bagged 7703 copies before dropping out.

The auspOp team

auspOp said...

And for our last Anonymous,

Apologies, we completely missed 'Not Afraid' this week for some reason - it sold 5200 copies.

Hi again auspOp, and thanks for those sales. I'm sorry if I'm asking too much, if you haven't noticed, I'm just asking for the top 10, plus CTM/HSS/OMG as extras. I'm hoping you'd be able to provide these for me each week, especially the top 10...

auspOp said...

Hey fishpop,

Yes, totally understand. We're sure that ARIA doesn't really appreciate us publishing these figures, however - we're pretty much the only place you'll find them, so we don't wish to jeopardise what we do for the future by providing a complete top ten or a complete top 20 etc etc.

The auspOp team

fishpop said...

I totally understand that too. Maybe one day ARIA will give away the whole chart's sales. One day. *Looks into the sky*
