NEWS WRAP

• Travie McCoy's brand new single 'We'll Be Alright' is one of a number of brand new tracks taken to Australian radio this week. 'We'll Be Alright' is the second local single to be lifted from his debut album 'Lazarus'.
• Warner has also serviced the Ben Folds and Nick Hornby collaborative single 'Claire's Ninth', Serj Tankian's 'Reconstructive Demonstrations' and LA hip hop outfit New Boyz' single 'Break My Bank', which features guest vocals from Iyaz.
• Sony's got a few goodies doing the radio rounds this week, including Santana's new single 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps', which features the vocals of Indie Arie, along with Court Yard Hounds' single 'See You In The Spring', remixes of Usher's 'DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love' and the Adam Lambert single we mentioned on the site yesterday.
• EMI has reserviced the Roll Deep single 'Green Light' and Universal has sampled Armand Van Helden's newie 'Brrrat' and The Audreys' 'Trouble Somehow'.
• Perth outfit Birds Of Tokyo are undoubtedly doing something right - not only did their eponymous new LP debut at No.2 on the ARIA albums chart early last month, but tickets to their forthcoming Adelaide and Perth shows have completely sold out. Tickets for their gigs in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart are selling fast.
• The line-up of guest speakers who'll appear at the Australian International Music Show, set down for October 02 and 03 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, has grown again. Respected industry identity Michael Gudinski will be present, along with Dave Matthews, Jeff Martin from The Tea Party and renowned local music journalist Christie Eleizer.
• Universal Music will release the new project from French dance outfit Daft Punk in November. The band's new work is the 'Tron : Legacy' soundtrack and will be released in Australia on Friday November 26.
• Speaking of Universal Music, they've revealed via this week's new release schedule that Pearl Jam fans can expect a re-release of their debut live album 'Death On Two Legs' in Australia on Friday October 29. A deluxe edition is also incoming.
• Dainty Consolidated Entertainment has announced a second Sydney show for Welsh songstress Katherine Jenkins (left). Tickets for the show, to be held at the State Theatre on Sunday October 24, will go on sale tomorrow.
• 18 year old Brook Newton was the winner of the latest heat in the Telstra Road To Tamworth, held in Adelaide over the weekend. He'll head to Sydney to participate in a boot camp in the hope of making it all the way to Tamworth for the final in January.
• We thought it was all over red rover for Brisbane band Avalon Drive, which disbanded in November 2008 citing "irreconcilable differences". But they've announced a very special one-off comeback show in Brisbane on Saturday February 05. Tickets for the gig are on sale now from The HiFi.
• In the UK, last year's X Factor runner-up Olly Murs has debuted at No.1 on the British singles chart with his debut offering 'Please Don't Let Me Go'. The single held off Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream', which debuted at No.2. Pepper & Piano was the week's other top ten debut - at No.7, while the Same Difference single debuted at a disastrous No.100 - precisely what happens when idiotic record company boffins take a song to radio and then make fans wait eight weeks before releasing the song digitally.
• And on the UK albums chart, Katy Perry debuts in the No.1 position with 'Teenage Dream', making her No.1 in the US, the UK and here in Australia. Biffy Clyro surges, while there are debuts at Nos.6 and 7 for The Pretty Reckless and Disturbed respectively.

Has there been any news of the official 'Dynamite' remix by Taio Cruz which features Jennifer Lopez locally? It hit U.S. radio a couple of weeks back, so I am wondering if Australia will get a hold of the track. Also, is it true that Australian radio will debut the new Rihanna single 'Only Girl (In The World)' today?

Where is Australia at with The Naked And Famous album 'Passive Me, Aggressive You'?

Hey Brad,

According to our sources at Universal Music, the Rihanna track was internationally embargoed and went out to radio at 11:30 last night AEST.
But there's been no word so far on the Taio Cruz/Jennifer Lopez version of 'Dynamite'. If we hear any more, we'll let you know.
