WHAT WE CAN'T TELL YOU ABOUT JESSICA

We've been bubbling with excitement at the prospect of telling you all the news about Jessica Mauboy's new project, because as you know, we're big supporters of Jess's - and always have been.
As you may or may not have heard by now, new material from the former Aussie Idol songstress is well on the way, with both single and album release slated before Christmas.
But unfortunately, we're not allowed to tell you about it. And we've been honouring a promise made more than a month ago not to reveal any details ahead of an official announcement on Monday. According to Sony, we're not allowed to officially reveal anything about the new project - the releases, dates, titles and guest vocalists, despite virtually all the information already being available in the public domain.
We're not allowed to tell you that the new single is called 'Get 'Em Girls' or that it features a guest vocal from none other than Snoop Dogg (even though it was published in The Daily Telegraph three weeks ago). Similarly, we're not allowed to tell you that we're counting down to 9am AEST on Friday September 17 as the first time we'll get to hear it (www.jessicamauboy.com.au will tell you that) or, according to her own TWITTER account, that Jess is shooting the video in Los Angeles this week with Hype Williams directing.
We're not allowed to tell you when the single will be released digitally or that there will be a physical CD single to follow (which was listed on Chaos.com early yesterday but has since been removed).
Nor are we permitted to tell you that the album is self-titled, will feature rumoured guest vocals by Iyaz and Jay Sean (The Music Network broke that one) and is set for release on Friday November 05 (that one courtesy of Chaos.com.)
So apologies that you've heard nothing from us about Jessica's new material - we could have told you all this information weeks ago, but we haven't because we've been respectfully honouring our word.
But if Sony wanted the information surrounding Jessica's new project to be tightly guarded, they've failed spectacularly in their task. 'Cause folks, it's already out there - and we're sorry to say you didn't hear it from us.

Oh Sony...when you put information that is anticipated out to the industry and they report it, why have so much secrecy and force embargos? Why does the media report such news? Because there's a demand for it. Imagine if they put it out there and no media outlets ran with it?
In a world where everyone's news is lapped up then moved onto the next big story, they should know it's to be done with a big bang for all to report , rather than outlets ignoring requests of embargos
