Don't you hate it when you've got together a fantastic collection of classical covers of pop gems and then all of a sudden, another one tops the charts which you think would be great to be given the classical makeover except you've already pressed your album and there's really no time for the new song to get mastered and plonked onto the disc, so you make do by popping the clip up on Youtube and tell people it'll be a bonus track with the digital version of the album on iTunes? We know we do...And that's precisely what seems to have happened in the case of Aussie outfit Aston and their debut album. Yes, there's a classical take on Rihanna's 'Rude Boy' on the album, but they've just HAD to weave their magic on her recent chart topper 'Only Girl (In The World)'. And their version is sweeping, majestic and dramatic.
And while you won't get it on the physical album, you will get covers of Kylie's 'Confide In Me', Gaga and Beyonce's 'Telephone', Beyonce's 'Halo' and even INXS's 'Never Tear Us Apart'.
Aston's album is in the shops on Friday October 22.
