They've taken their homeland by storm, notching up platinum sales, and have even clocked up a recent top ten debut on the Billboard album chart. But now the teenage boys from Il Volo have their sights set firmly on Australia, with Universal Music this morning announcing that they'll head to Australia in August for a promotional tour to coincide with the album's local release.
Il Volo is 17 year old Piero Barone and 16 year olds Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. The trio was formed two years ago after they met through the Italian TV singing contest Ti Lascio Una Canzone and their music combines pop with opera.
According to Universal, they'll only be on Aussie soil for three days - August 10-12.
Their self-titled debut is released on Friday August 05.

I would love to meet il volo i love there music. When and where in australia are the guys touring??
Hey Jess,
We assume that given they've only got a few days on Australian soil, they'll probably be sticking to Sydney, doing Sunrise, The Morning Show, possibly Today and some radio/press interviews.
From what we know, there's no concerts planned this time around - the visit is purely for promotional purposes.
