She may be Australia's divine goddess of song, but geez that Katie Noonan tarts herself around the record companies, doesn't she? She was with Mushroom in the george and original Elixir days, followed it up with solo material for Mushroom's successor Warner Music, popped across to Sony for the 'Blackbird' and The Captains projects and is now at ABC for the impending release of a brand new Elixir album entitled 'First Seed Ripening'.
Recorded in the ABC studios in Sydney, the recording of the band's second ever LP "was all about freedom and spontaneity" and is inspired by the words of Aussie poet Thomas Shapcott (whose words also appear on two tracks from the 'Emperor's Box' EP).
While Shapcott's words abound, 'First Seed Ripening' also contains cover versions including 'My Old Man' (Joni Mitchell) and 'I Hope I Never' (Split Enz).
'First Seed Ripening' will be released on Friday August 05.
