LEANN RIMES : Can't Fight The Moonlight
Country singer Leann Rimes first announced her arrival to Australian audiences via her 1996 top ten hit 'Blue'. But it would be five years later with the lead song from a soundtrack to a movie that we can't quite remember that she'd really hit the big time down under. 'Can't Fight The Moonlight', penned by serial hit writer Diane Warren made it all the way to the top of the Australian singles chart ten years ago, bagging more than 200,000 sales locally and more than two million worldwide. The song was so big down under that year that it also ended up in the No.1 position for the biggest tracks of 2001.
The clip? Well essentially it features Leann singing atop the bar called 'Coyote Ugly' and it's got clips from the movie itself all interwoven through. Hardly groundbreaking stuff, but the song's an early noughties classic.

Loved LeAnn since Blue and followed her career always, this was a classic moment. Great song.
I LOVE this song, one of my favourite pop tracks of all-time and one of several great songs on the soundtrack. You don't remember the movie Coyote Ugly? I know it was hardly ground-breaking, but it is a good light-hearted movie that I do find myself watching once a year or so lol. Also, it has Tyra dancing around like an idiot, so that is always entertaining.
