NEW JOSS

Okay, if this isn't one of the biggest pop coincidences ever...
On the very same day as two men were arrested outside Joss Stone's house in the UK, armed with ropes, swords and a body bag, in an apparent plot to kidnap and/or commit grievous bodily harm upon the British soul singer, she announces a brand new album with Universal Music.
Joss has jumped ship from long-time label EMI to release her new independent LP through the Universal giant. Called 'LP1', it's due for release in Australia at the end of next month.
The new album goes some way to explaining why EMI has taken so long to pop out her greatest hits package 'Super Duper Hits', which is currently slated for a mid August release.
Co-penned with Eurythmics stalwart Dave Stewart, the new album is due to hit shelves in Australia on Friday July 29.

No record company PR officer would miss an opportunity to make an announcement in conjunction with a scandal. If they didn't, they'd be sacked.

The only question is ... what is the reality?

The intention to announce the album in conjunction with a PR stunt, or a rush-release of the announcement to fit in with a news story?
