'Gotcha' is quite unlike anything Jess Mauboy's done before. Given it's part of the soundtrack to the new Aussie film 'The Sapphires', it's undeniable that the track gives more than a slight nod to the music of the swinging '60s, but it's still fresh and now. We're feeling elements of Janelle Monae's brilliant 'Tightrope' and we're also feeling that this is another big step in the right direction for Australia's own R&B starlet, who's long cast off the TV talent show tag.
The clip? Well it features Jess in studio black and white mode, leaving snippets of the film to deliver the bursts of colour to keep things rolling along. Ms Mauboy is clearly in her element and her energy and enthusiasm for the track is evident - and it's infectious.
