GIRLS ALOUD : Something New

This one is very much a case of "stop the presses"... There's two bits of Girls Aloud news that we simply MUST share, kicking off with the video for their brand new single 'Something New'.
It's been revealed late tonight that the new track, to be made available as part of a new greatest hits package (more on that shortly), will also play the part of the official Children In Need single in the UK this year. Staggeringly, however, the girls and their label are making their fans wait an entire month before they can buy it.
That said, the track is a great return to form; fresh, up-tempo dance/pop with a clip that epitomises the style and cheekiness Girls Aloud have always been known for. Bow down, pretenders... We give this a 'Ten'.

Great song. But what about the fact that the CD single is only for UK residents only?! What about us Oz fans who need it to complete our collection? :(

Its for Children In Need, not sport relief :)

This also got a play on the Hot 30 countdown tonight, so hopefully that means a local release. With some success with Cheryls solo work over here, im sure it could do well down here.

Hey Kirk,

Well that's just not BRITISH!

Hey Anonymous,

Thanks for the correction. We've just arrived from a 15 hour plane trip. Eyes hanging out of head etc.

And Anonymous #2,

We spoke to Universal this week about it and there's nothing from them yet. But we've asked them to.

Universal twitter was kind enough to ask the label manager about something new being released here and the response was - 'We will release everything (we can) digitally' - which is apparently good news.

It was amazing to hear it played on the Hot 30 last night, with shoutout to both auspop and myself. Really was an incredible night last night.

Yeah tried to order the CD Single to find UK only!!!
Will have to hope HMV UK or Amazon UK stock it (should do if it is a charity single) or it is off to eBay!
Seems odd when they are happy to send the album and DVD here!?!

I love the song. So glad they're back. I think they are the strongest girl band in a long time.

I wonder why the hot30 played it...

The Saturdays had taken the 'best girl band' crown off Girls Aloud a while back. Don't see them having any trouble holding onto it.
